Many labels have simply shown wrong portion sizes, which means we are taking in more calories than we should with that particular food. Another problem is that the listed fat content on the label can often be up to 50% lower than what the food product actually contains.

Researchers learned that 20% of the food they analyzed contained 100 or more calories than the nutrition label stated. That means that for each meal you eat that has 100 calories extra, you are gaining 30 pounds a year.
